NOTICE OF THE ANNUAL COUNCIL MEETING 2008 - JERSEY

 To commence at the:

HOTEL DE FRANCE, ST HELIER, JERSEY at 16:00 hrs to 18.00 hrs on SUNDAY, 18^th MAY

the meeting will continue at the same location:

at 07:00 hrs to 09:00 hrs on WEDNESDAY, 21^st MAY

and the open meeting of the full World Jersey Cattle Bureau will be held at:

HOTEL DE FRANCE, ST HELIER, JERSEY at 11.45 hrs to 12.45 hrs on WEDNESDAY, 21^st MAY

AGENDA

1.      President's Welcome

2.      To recording those present and receive apologies for absence

3.      To approve Minutes of the Council Meeting, held in July 2007 in Brazil (previously circulated)

4.      To discuss any matters arising from these minutes

5.      To discuss the following Bureau business:

a.       To receive the President's Report (to be posted on the World Jersey Cattle Bureau web site)

b.       To receive Vice Presidents' Reports (to be posted on the web site)

c.       To receive the Secretary's Report (to be posted on the web site)

d.       To receive the Treasurer's Report (to be posted on the web site)

e.       To approve Audited Accounts for the previous year (to be posted on the web site)

f.        To set Members Fees for the year

g.       To appoint Auditors

h.       To appoint a Secretary

6.      To receive a Report on the Lord Jersey Research Trust (to be posted on the web site)

7.      To accept and vote on nominations for Officers of the Bureau to present to the full Bureau Meeting.  The following nominations have been received:

a.       President – Dr Gonzalo Maldonado (Colombia)

b.       Vice President for Africa – Johannes van Eeden (South Africa)

c.       Vice President for Asia-Oceania – John Bailey (NZ), Peter Ness (Australia)

d.       Vice President for Europe – Derrick Frigot (Jersey)

e.       Vice President for Latin America – Massaru Kashiwagi (Brazil)

f.        Vice President for North America – Dr Cherie L. Bayer (USA)

8.      To discuss future WJCB Meetings

a.       2009 Annual Council Meeting in USA

b.       2010 Annual Council Meeting in Albania

c.       2011 International Conference in New Zealand.

9.      Any Other Business

a.       To receive motion from Jersey Cattle Society of the UK that ‘the WJCB establish a working group to explore potential for enhancing the market of Jersey milk and its products worldwide’ (full request to be posted on the web site)
