Lord Jersey Research Trust Fund Raiser
Aug 2006 - La Ferme Open Day raises £3,540 for the Lord Jersey Research Trust Fund
The annual farm open day held at La Ferme, St. Martin, Jersey welcomed around 2,000 people to see a working farm in
operation, and to help raise funds for a very worthwhile cause. Mrs Anne Perchard MBE (Patron of the WJCB) and her family,
opened up their farm to the public on Saturday 12th August and the weather was overcast in the morning, it turned out to be
a glorious summer's day after lunchtime.
The format of the event remains very much unchanged ....... why change a winning formula?? ...... and this is what attracts
local people and overseas visitors to this annual event. With over 30 car boot stalls, a raffle, tractor and trailor rides
around the farm, tours of the dairy unit, stalls seeling a variety of things, the now famour cow-pat competition, etc. the
whole farm was certainly a hive of activity for the seven hours it was opened to the public.
A VERY BIG THANK YOU - 1) to the Perchard family for the use of their farm, 2) to all the volunteers who helped to set up and
run the various stalls and activities, and 3) to everyone who attended this magnificent farm open day!!
