CANADIAN-BRED JERSEYS TAKE
CHAMPIONSHIPS AT MADISON!!
Three cows bred in Western
Ontario worked
their way to spots in the winner's circle at the
recent World Dairy Expo Jersey show in
Madison, Wisconsin! When the dust had settled
after a strong Jersey show featuring over 300
head the major rosettes were worn on the
halters of Canadian-bred Jerseys!
The Canuck champions are:
HURONIA CENTURION VERONICA,
EX-94%
Veroncia was bred by the
partnership of Murray
and Pat Mellow, Bolton, Ontario and Fred and
Ruth Armstrong of Huronia Jerseys, Auburn,
Ontario. Her sire is the durable Sooner
Centurion, a star of Select Sires Jersey line-up.
She springs from the Virginia family which came
to prominence at Swissbell Jerseys owned by
the Wick and now Kaehli families at Grand
Valley, Ontario. Veronica's dam is Genesis
Renaissance Virginia, a daughter of very well
known Canadian sire Hollylane Renaissance,
bred by Paul and Virginia Warwick, Exeter,
Ontario. Veronica has been a famed Jersey in
world circles for the past three years with
championship victories at major North American
shows, massive sales of progeny and super
high production of high solids milk!
In Madison Veroncia added
the following
honours to her already full credentials:
Senior and Grand Champion
Jersey female
and Reserve Supreme Champion Female of
All Breeds. Veronica is now owned by
Arethusa Farm of Litchfield, Ct. . Amazingly
enough Arethusa Farm is also owner of the
2004 Supreme Champion of World Dairy Expo
the Canadian-bred Holstein Hillcroft Leader

Icing on the cake for
Veronica's week of
triumphs at Madison was the sale of her 2003-
born daughter Elliotts Deluxe Vienna for the
$32,000 top price of the associated Top of The
World Sale!
LLOLYN JUDE GRIFFEN-ET,
EX-92%
This daughter of Semex Alliance
stalwart
Curtsey Duncan Jude-ET was bred by the
Gurney family of Llolyn Jersey Farms Ltd.,
Princeton, Ontario. She is now owned by young
Jersey supporter Martin Cozzitorto, Gustine,
California.
Griffen won the following
titles in two Expo
shows: Intermediate Champion and Reserve
Grand Champion of the Open Jersey show
and Grand Champion of the Junior Jersey
Show.
BRIDGEVIEW RM DESIGN
This productive daughter
of ABS Global sire
Rock Ella Remake, bred in Canada, was born at
Bridgeview Farms owned by Brian and Joan
Coleman and family near Brantford, Ontario.
Her dam is by Semex sire Huronia Jody's
Galaxy. Design is owned by Peter Vail and Ken
Beneke of Millerton, New York. Design stood
second to the Champion, Veronica, in the 27
head four year old class and captured Reserve
Senior Champion Female honours.
Two daughters of Shamrock
Jude Julianna,
bred by the McMahon family of Shamrock
Farms, Guelph, Ontario took the top two places
in the Jersey sweepstakes event held at Expo.
The two are full sisters by Elliotts Renaissance
Deluxe and are owned by partnerships centered
around Ernest Kueffner and Terri Packard, of
Boonsboro, Maryland.
GIPRAT BELLES JADE was
named Premier
Sire of the powerful Jersey show at Madison.
This bull was bred by Giprat Genetics Ltd. and
was born at and is marketed by Rapid Bay
Jersey Farm, Ormstown, Quebec. He is a son
of the legendary Duncan Belle cow and
Valleystream J I S Juno, a foundation sire of the
Semex Jersey program.
