The great news from Jersey Canada continues to pour forth!!

CANADIAN GENETICS ARE THE ABSOLUTE CREAM OF RECORDING-BREAKING JERSEY SALE!

One of the most outstanding Jersey sales yet to be held on this planet took place at Marcellus, New York on May 29th! On the spring day 126 lots worked their magnetic appeal and drew a standing room only crowd and a mountain-top average of $5356 (US)!!
The Sycamore Hill Farm Jersey herd owned by George and Karen Hanford and family and very capably managed by Bill and Gretchen Taylor and family was dispersed to incredible levels of interest. The Jersey breed garners new converts every day it seems and the SHF herd was a top draw after years of showring and production success.

A pair of milking age full sisters by the world- renowned Canadian-bred sire Hollylane Renaissance topped the sale at breath-taking prices of $60,000 and $33,000 (US) respectively.
"Renaissance" semen has attracted unprecedented bids at public auction. He was created at the Hollylane Jerseys Master Breeder factory of Roger E. Ray and Diane Jarrell-Ray at Corbyville, Ontario.
The two cows are SHF Renaissance Frost-ET, a junior two year old born in June 2002 and fresh in late April 2004 and SHF Renaissance Faline-ET, a VG-87% three year old with 1-11 365 17,592 801 4.6% 609 3.5% (pounds) and fresh in May 2004. Ernie Kueffner of Maryland handled the winning bid on Frost. Faline is now the property of Peter Vail and Ken Beneke of Millerton, New York.
These cows are full sisters to the EX-95% SHF Renaissance Fantastic who has records to 6-9 365 35771 1847 5.2% 1221 3.4% (pounds).
Their dam is VG-88% and is by Select Sires foundation sire Soldierboy Boomer Sooner of CJF. More Canadian genes fill the pedigree in that the second dam of these two "in high demand" young cows is an Ex. daughter of Semex Alliance star Meadow Lawn J Imperial 50R-ET.
Another daughter of Renaissance Edgeview Renaissance Jane Ex-96% 7-2 365 27082 1457 5.4% 974 3.5%, bred by the Ribbink family of Tiverton, Ontario was also among those topping the $25,000 (US) sale price.
It has been a spring of extreme demand for Canadian genetics and Renaissance daughters in the USA as another daughter of the bull Jaspar R Evening Moon, bred by Jim and Tammy Sparling of Varna, Ontario topped the highly successful Spring Valley Sale in Maryland in late April at another in excess of $20,000 (US) price!

The wonderfully successful SHF dispersal was managed by the Hanfords and Taylors working with the Cattle Exchange of New York and Norman Nabholz of Nabholz Farm, Iowa!
