GREAT NEWS ON AN EXCITING INTERNATIONAL JERSEY EVENT IN CANADA!

JERSEY SUPPORTERS MAKE
HIGHLY GENEROUS DONATIONS TO SUPPORT WORLD CONFERENCE IN CANADA!!!

In late June and early July of 2005 Jersey Canada and its members will be welcoming hosts to the 17th International Conference of the long-established World Jersey Cattle Bureau! This will be  the first time since 1982, 23 years earlier, that Canada has hosted this major global dairy event. Given the gap between Canadian-hosted conferences Jersey circles in Canada  are absolutely pulsing and coursing with excitement over this spectacular opportunity!

Jersey owners in Canada have long been noted for their exceptional generosity and hospitality! The run-up to the World conference has provided ample evidence of that generosity and giving nature of Jersey supporters.
On October 23rd three stand-out examples of this attitude will be centre stage at a major fall Jersey sale in Guelph, Ontario.
Avonlea Genetics Inc., (the Livock and Vander Meulen families) of Brighton, Ontario are hosting the Breeders Fall Classic Sale at Brubachers Sale Arena, near Guelph that day.

Andrew and Jennifer Van der Meulen of Avonlea have been key leaders of the energetic and highly motivated organizing team for the 2005 World Conference in Canada.  As such they ensured that some opportunities to support funding for the conference were offered on October 23rd. And WOW! What great donations have been made to the rapidly-growing fund!!
Here are three of the special items that will be auctioned for the conference fund on October 23rd.

The Sayles family of Bridon Farms Inc. have been heavily involved in confernce planning as Brian and Donna Sayles have served as Co- Chairs for the 2005 Conference Planning Team. In addition to countless hours away from home planning the conference and on international travel to promote the 2005 event the entire Sayles family are donating five (5) units of semen from Valleystream J I S Juno, a foundation sire of the current Canadian Jersey population.  "Juno", a former star sire in the Semex Alliance Stable was bred by John and June White of St. Thomas, Ontario and used in a plethora of Semex client countries.

Fred Petzold, of Americana Jerseys and Holsteins in Ontrario and Ohio is re-donating a copy of the current Canadian Jersey true type model picture that he purchased in a World Conference sale earlier this year. Petzold has been an incredibly generous and keen supporter  of efforts to prepare for the World Conference.

A stellar, exciting and significant donation to the Conference Fund has been made by two highly pro-Jersey couples in Ontario.  Fred and Ruth Armstrong of Huronia Jersys at Auburn, Ontario
and Murray and Pat Mellow of Mellow Insurance
at Kenkare Farm, Bolton, Ontario are the donors of a terrific embryo package!

The Armstrongs and Mellows have contributed a package of five number one quality embryos from their world-renowned brood cow Genesis Reniassance Vivianne to the cause. "Vivianne" was bred by Paul and Virginia Warwick of genesis Jerseys, Exeter, Ontario. She is preceded by five generations of Excellent females members of the famed Virginia family originating at Swissbell Jerseys (the Wick and now Kaehli families) at Grand Valley, Ontario.
The fortunate buyer will have a choice of embryos by three well known sires: Sooner Centurion from the Select Sires line-up; Giprat Belles Connection, a Centurion son marketed by Rapid Bay Jerseys in Quebec and Semex Alliance sire Molly Brook Fusion-ET.

"Vivianne's" prowess as a brood cow has been amply proven by two Sooner Centurion daughters and another Excellent daughter.
Her daughter Huronia Centurion Veronica Ex- 94% has spent the last three years making headlines in the global dairy poopulation. Most recently she has been Reserve Supreme Champion of the 2004 World Dairy Expo show after taking the Jersey Grand Championship at a 300 head-plus show at the same event. Veronica who is now owned by Arethusa Farms, Litchfield, Connecticut has garnered an Ex-94% classification score and has produced over 11,623 kgs milk, 573 kgs fat at 4.9% and 475 kgs of protein at 4.1% in 331 days at 2-11 years of age. In 2002 Veronica was Intermediate Champion and Reserve Grand Champion at "the Big Three" Jersey shows in North America- World Dairy Expo, the All American Jersey Show and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair as a two year old.
Also at the 2004 World Dairy Expo a daugther of Veronica brought high price at the Top Of The World Jersey Sale with an impressive $32,000 (US) selling price. Another Veronica daughter has snagged the prestigious Lot 1 spot in the 2004 All American Jersey Sale this November.
In 2003 progeny of Veronica attracted bids totalling well over $110, 000 (US) at a major Jersey sale in the USA.
In an interesting twist these embryos are not eligible for export to the USA due to the age of the donor dam. Thus, prospects for purchasing these embryos are expanded for those residing in Canada and for potential investors in all the many countries where Canadian embryos are eligible for importation!

"Vivianne", the embryo donor, also has a high producing, show-winning VG-86%  "Centurion" daughter at Bridon farms in Ontario and an Ex- 90% daughhter at the Ratliff Family's Jersey farm in Kansas, USA.

A feature of the 60 top lots in the Breeders Fall Classic sale will be a September 2003 full sister to Huronia Centurion Veronica consigned by the Mellows and Armstrongs.
Seven leading herds will be represented with multiple consignments along with lots from 15 other Jersey herds.
