Brings $28,200 to Top Pride of the West Sale
Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USJersey, July 20, 2004—Led by a $28,200 high-selling female, the 16th annual Pride of the West Invitational Sale on July 17, 2004 averaged $3,508.52 on 44 head sold.
The sale was managed by Jersey Marketing Service and was held at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds in Tillamook, Ore.
A choice of three ET heifer calves sired by Windy Willow Montana Jace, JPI +272, and out of SHF Paramount Golden Gal, topped the sale at $28,200. The March heifers were consigned by David Hogan, Tillamook, Ore., and have a Jersey Performance Index (JPI) of +282. They were purchased by Jim Jenks, Buhl, Idaho.
“Golden Gal” was the high seller at $28,000 of the 2002 All American Jersey Sale as a heifer calf. Fresh in May, she produced 87.5 lbs. of milk on her first test only 17 days fresh. She is out of Ferreira Mannix Goldengirl, Very Good 86%, with 1-11 305 23,703 4.5% 1,066 3.2% 773 m.e.
The next dam is the U.S. and World Fat Champion, Golden MBSB of Twin Haven-ET, Excellent 94% with 2,421 lbs. fat in 365 days.
Louise Castanelli, Yelm Wash., paid $6,500 for the second-high seller, Yosemite Lemvig Berretta Brook, JPI +244, consigned by Yosemite Jersey Dairy, Hilmar, Calif. The ISDK FYN Lemvig, JPI +264, daughter is out of a Very Good 87% Mason Boomer Sooner Berretta and was just fresh in March with 72 lbs. on her first test.
